Boo!

So this was the first Halloween that William really knew what was going on. Probably had something to do with being in school and it being talked about and hyped every day. Bo was aware, but he tends to live more in the moment so it's Halloween one second, and rasp-berries! the next...

We've noticed lately that, as Bo 'catches' up to William in his awareness of what's going on, that they've become quite competitive. It's usually William who has to be the first, the fastest, the funniest. But Bo is catching on quickly, and quite likes it when William's nose is out of joint because he out-something'd William, or liked to believe he did.

This year, William decided he wanted to be a Transformer. When he was two, he was a Winnie the Pooh pumpkin. That wasn't going to fly with Bo. There was no way his big brother was going to be this cool robot car and he was going to be a pudgy pumpkin. So Bo was Batman.

He was so excited the day we got his costume (about 2 weeks ago) that he had to wear it at home. Of course William had to wear his costume as well. Here they are getting their Lady Ga Ga on again!

And no, I did not teach them those dance moves. I have no idea where they learned that.

They had a lot of fun going out trick and treating, particularly yelling at people's doors several times until they opened them, and then yelling again to make sure they were getting their candy.

It worked. Most houses gave them four pieces of candy each!

I wanted to put Joshua into the Winnie pumpkin outfit but he had a miserable day...cramps, teething, punchy-tired so we didn't push it. Next year....

I'll leave you with a cute video of him on the swing last week.

Jill's Getting Old...

Today is October 5th, and it's Jill's birthday:)

I wonder how long it will take her to see this post. Hours? Days? Weeks? She's pretty busy, not to mention tired. William's gift to her (us?) was not coming into our bedroom between 5 and 5:30 a.m. Unfortunately, Bo and Joshua have yet to learn that it is better to give than to receive......

One of the primary reasons Jill wanted to blog was so that she could create a mini time capsule. A place where she could capture moments of our life that are seemingly forgotten the moment they happen. As most of you know, life moves faster then we do....

So today's snapshot is Jill's birthday in 2012. When she opens her little blog memory box years from now she'll be reminded that today she was loved more than she has even been loved. She was needed more than she has ever been needed, and that she was never more 'not alone' in her life. As the years pass she may wish to celebrate her birthday less and less. I imagine, and hope, that I will appreciate it more and more, because no one has benefited from her birth more than I.

Happy Birthday Sweetie!
